Purpose

The purpose or goal of Lutheran education is to create and strengthen faith in Jesus as the Savior, to make disciples by teaching everything Jesus commanded (Matthew 28: 19-20).

Partnership with Home & Church

Parents, especially fathers, have primary responsibility to train their children in the training and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). God instituted the public ministry of the Church to help parents train their children (Ephesians 4:11). Lutheran schools are an extension of the church to partner with parents in the spiritual training of their children.

Lutheran Teachers

Teachers in Lutheran schools share our Christian faith and confession. They believe, teach, and live what we want our children to believe, teach, and live (Ephesians 4:11ff). They are role models for us and for our children. They care about the soul as much as, if not more, than the body. They will spend eternity with us.

Discipline With God's Word

We use God's Word not for behavior modification, but for spiritual transformation (2 Timothy 3:16).

Friendships / Support Network

Lutheran schools create an excellent environment to establish eternal relationships and friendships with fellow Lutherans. While on earth, those friendships will provide us with Christian support when we most need it (Proverbs 18:24).

Worship & Devotional Life

Part of the Christian life includes regular group worship and private devotion (Psalm 1). This worship and devotion life is built into the Lutheran school with study of God's Word, devotions, prayer, and singing in churches.

Network Beyond the Fox River Valley

The FVL Schools partners are all a part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), which is dedicated to sharing God's Word around the world. We have a network that spans the globe and which can provide spiritual and emotional support for your child well beyond high school and into college, military and/or career.
