Solo Results from Little Chute HS March 3

FVL Schools had 7 solo events performing at Little Chute HS on Saturday, March 3.  Most of these students participated in the WELS Middle School Honors Band Festival on February 24 and were unable to perform at FVL.  Here are their results:

WELS Band Festival this weekend

Mr. Neujahr and eleven FVL Band students will be attending one of two WELS Band Festivals this weekend.  Mrs. Nogar will conduct the Concert Winds rehearsal on Saturday.  The band festival will be at Illinois Lutheran HS in Crete, IL (Southern end of the Chicago Metropolitan area).  The festival will include band students and their directors from several other WELS high schools.  Rehearsals will take place all day Friday and Saturday, with the Festival Concert at 2:00 on Sunday afternoon.

FVL Schools Jazz Academy

Mr. Kramer is again offering several weeks of the FVL Schools Jazz Academy!  All students with at least one full year of lessons are eligible.

Rehearsals will be on the following days:

Saturdays March 3, 10, April 7, 14 (10:00 - 11:00 AM)
Mondays May 7, 14 (6:00 - 7:00 PM)

Mr. Kramer has prepared a Poster for the Academy with more information, such as cost and how to register.

Solo and Ensemble Results

First, thanks to our MANY volunteers from FVL and FVL Schools this past Saturday at our festival!  We had everything covered, and the day went very well.  Thanks also to the many parents, family members, and relatives who were in attendance to see our students perform.  Your participation in their musical education is so very important.  Thanks to all!

The solo and ensemble festival for FVL and FVL Schools Band members was very successful!  In all, the FVL Schools Band Program entered 20 events, with 6 receiving a rating of "2" and 14 events receiving a "1" rating.

FVL Schools will have 8 solo events performing at Little Chute HS on Saturday, March 3.  Most of these students participated in the WELS Middle School Honors Band Festival this past Saturday and were unable to perform at FVL.  We will have their results next week!

Special congratulations to Anthony Higareda (Riverview, Appleton) for qualifying for the State Solo and Ensemble Festival with his piano solo! In order to qualify for State, a Class A solo must be played, and must receive the highest ratings in each category.

The FVL Band and Choir students also did very well, with 1 event receiving a "2" rating and 36 events receiving a "1" rating!  Of those 36, 21 events are advancing to the State Solo and Ensemble Festival!
