Included in the program will be a selection featuring the Fox Valley Lutheran and Manitowoc Lutheran High School Symphonic Bands, and members of Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin. Since its founding in 1983 by Michael Levine, the Dallas Brass has become one of America's foremost musical ensembles. The group has established a unique blend of traditional brass instruments with a full complement of drums and percussion, which creates a performing entity of extraordinary range and musical challenges. The Dallas Brass repertoire includes classical masterpieces, Dixieland, swing, Broadway, Hollywood and patriotic music.

In addition to their solo engagements, the Dallas Brass appears with symphony orchestras nationwide. Symphonic credits include the Cincinnati Pops conducted by Erich Kunzel, New York Pops conducted by Skitch Henderson, and the Philly Pops conducted by Peter Nero. The Dallas Brass has performed at Carnegie Hall, the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and has toured overseas to Europe and the Far East. They have shared the stage with the late Bob Hope, have performed for Presidents Gerald Ford and George H. W. Bush, have appeared on the CBS "Early Show," and their music has been used numerous times on the television show,"The Young & The Restless."

Update for March 19

It's Picture Day!

We will be taking our band pictures on Saturday, March 19.  We will be taking time during our rehearsal for the photos.  We will be taking formal group photos in uniform, so band students are to wear black shoes and socks, white shirts, and black pants for the day.  These items are the same as what they wore to the November concert.  We will distribute the concert vests on that morning.

Our Photographer will be from Pinnacle Group Photography, and will be offering several different packages for purchase.  It will be up to you if you want to order a package or not.  We do ask that all band members wear concert clothes on that day even if you may not purchase any photos, since we will be taking a group photo with all students included.

Pinnacle Group Photography has sent ordering information.  You may pre-order, or may order after the pictures have been taken.

  • Follow this link to the ONLINE PRE-ORDER FORM
  • The link will also be available after picture day for viewing and ordering the pictures online.
  • You can also access a PDF ORDER FORM to print and fill out ahead of time if you wish.  If you use this form, please remember to fill it out and send payment with your child this Saturday when pictures are taken.

All you need to access the online form is an email address.  After entering your email address you will be brought to "FVL Band 2016" with options for ordering.

We will also need a few moms (or dads!) to assist with the vests and ties for the day.  Any and all volunteers will be welcome!
